The Blackthroat Goby (Favonigobius melanobranchus) is a fish species in the family Gobiidae. Formerly, it was separated in Papillogobius with the Tropical Sand Goby (F. reichei).
It is found in Mozambique and South Africa. This species is becoming rare due to habitat destruction.
